Ahhhh .. Now I get it .. Thanks ..

However, updating like that will only get rid of the double entries. I will still end up with recordings missing either the first or the last part of the show, due to rather frequent changes in the program schedule. If I leave it as it is I have to check the EPG daily for updates, but at least the overlap tells me there is updated information.

Would it be possible/easy to add a "conflict entry" whenever a scheduled recording overlaps with another EPG entry on the same channel? I haven't seen changes of more than 30 minutes yet, so this would ease/solve the problem for almost all recordings.

I see the problem - might be simplar to impliment the following:

1. Download complete listing for next x (7) days
2. If download successfull overwrite the current epg data

The problem with this is:
a) You are downloading a lot of the same data mutiple times
b) What happens to already scheduled/reocurring recordings?

HTH

But what happens when the TV company reschedules the show you want to record. For example the show is moved to be 15 minutes later starting. In this case you would miss recording the end of the show (without lots of padding).

EDIT: You get schedules like that show in the picture below. With confusing conflicts etc. I end up as someone suggested above, flushing out the data and reloading it in.

Yes, this correct. It'll be fixed sometime in the future. For now you'll just have to live with this limitation. Its been this way for the last 18 months, and doesnt seem to be causing too much grief.

sub Wrote:GB-PVR never updates XMLTV listing times once they're imported. I recommend people do an an initial update of a week or so, but from then on only grab one day or so of listings (so they're not importing dates which already exist).

For UK users Alan Birtles has made a change to XMLTV Radio Times grabber that will only download selected days at a time. See Here See Here for the changelog and how to set it up for single day updates. My guess is that you would do a full 14 day grab then single day grabs (using the /D1 switch) eachday. This should sort the problem once and for all for us Limey's Wink

No. It doesn't work like that. I've got a 14 day data.xml - I use the /grab /d1 option and I get a 1 day data.xml (i.e., tomorrow). The /d switch only specifies the number of days to pull - it doesn't work out how many days of EPG you already have and then tack the next day onto that.

Cheers,
Brian
