Yeah...last thing I want to do is watch commercials or not have time shift ability....even ComSkip would have issues as it isn't 100% accurate so we'd still need some skipping ability...

work around doesnt address the timeshift issue, but will address comskip issue (you cant comskip live tv, so it would have to be a recording anyway, reencoding a recording should be around real time, i.e. 1 hour recording adds 1 hour to reencode it.).


can one of you two please give me permission to include your links on the samsungdforum? I want to post the problematic files (easy to reproduce, just shove them on a webserver and point the player to the URL and the player doesnt skip correctly). Hopefully samsung can get a hold of the file and do something about it.

Sure...go ahead...

I don't like to re-encode files..I often start watching something that is part way through recording and happy to skip skip skip the commericals...in the event that I watch something after it's recorded then the ebl files in ComSkip do the job without a re-encoding...so I wouldn't personally want to go down the path of re-encoding files...
