The device is obviously detected, since it's there in the list, and shown as supporting DVB-S/T/C. Why do you thing DVB-T isn't being seen?

Quote:scanning of channels for satellite also just hangs at "Scanning: 10714/H/22000/56"
Can you try doing a scan, then post the npvr.log?

I've renamed the file to .txt from .log, and zipped it up using WinRAR 5.01

Thanks for looking

If you try running the app with 'Run As Administrator' does the scan then work? If it does, then after that you probably wouldn't need to start it with 'Run As Administrator' any more.

I think your machine is missing some standard DVB-T locator settings, and it doesn't have the permissions to recreate them.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm logged in as administrator.

What else could cause the error?

I tried it with run as administrator, just in case there was some difference, but it still refused to start the device. Then oh hangs the per windows.

DVB Viewer doesn't need working BDA drivers, NextPVR does so that isn't a one-for-one comparison.

Export, zip and post the following registry key:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Multimedia\TV

Geeennniuuuss. The key isn't there, multimedia is, but the only sub keys are DirectXMedia and WMPlayer. This must be the problem, or rather the associated program's / drivers are. I checked the file is used to install the BDA Drivers, it's called "BDA_R2_TV_Card_.msi"
Me thinks it needs something else, any suggestions.

That file might install the BDA drivers for the device but to get that registry key (and it's subkeys) first you need to install the BDA subsystem which is not part of Windows Server. Since you have the MPEG-2 demux filter, I assume that you did this at least partially but something was missed which would give you that registry key (which contains various tuning information). You might be able to just export/import that key from a Windows 7 machine.

I've imported the registry from the windows 7 machine, it's attached. The error of unable to start device: DVB-T tuning failed still occurs. It seems like it's not locating the device. I noticed in the registry that there are references to devices, how do I check this all matches?

Thanks again for your help.
