http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...815100100R

It has H.264 compression in hardware, the question is if it is BDA compatible?

That device won't work with NextPVR. It'd need me to write custom code to support it. A similar device that does work is the Hauppauge Colossus.

What if the producer supplied a BDA driver?

It wouldn't have BDA drivers.

BDA is for digital tuner devices, like DVB-S/T/C and QAM/ATSC.

This is an raw video encoder device, and would have WDM drivers (like analog devices, and Hauppauge HDPVR/Colossus etc). The WDM spec is a lot looser, and there is lots of different ways that applications have to interact with these types of devices. NextPVR would require specific code for to handle this type of devices.

I don't know - maybe. You'd probably be better off with one of the supported Hauppauge devices though.

Different? $132 for an open box vs $140 new http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815116065 For $8 you get a blaster and Dolby audio that's a bargain (on top of PVR support)
