12.3 is out, 1.9.5 included, so no joy on the Genre colors.

That should have been the good Frodo 1.6.5 version and not the bad Gotham one. Downloading.... works with genre colouring and is 1.6.5 here

Interesting, not here. I'm using the genre coloring file you shared with me a month or so ago. I see coloring in NPVR and XNEWA. Let me try replacing that file with what you gave me again. Maybe it got overwritten somehow when I did the R1a patches.

Check the version in the XBMC PVR addons screen for 1.6.5

I got it. Reset the EPG database on XBMC.

Happy Holidays!

Guys, I'm a little confused about genre colouring - I am using Openelec Gotham for RaspberryPi (a build release just a few days ago).
The addon version shows 1.9.5 but the changelog shows 1.9.6

I'm not sure if the changelog is looking online somewhere (and I don't yet have that version) or the addon version hasn't been updated..

Either way, I can't get genre colouring or edl to work, the changelog for 1.9.6 says 'more flexible genre colouring' but doesn't say what that is or how to set it up Smile

Do I still need to put some mapping file somewhere to map the genres to colours ? (I'm using XMLTV for guide data if it makes a difference)
Is there any sample of what this file should look like (if I still need one!)

Cheers!

That is correct 1.9.6. it was an error of omission on the file that identifies the version that sub still has to be change

EDL comskip as implemented won't work. The changelog is misleading on this too.

The file is in the NextPVR data directory xbmc-genre-translation.xml There is a more complete list of codes here https://github.com/opdenkamp/xbmc-pvr-ad...lation.xml but I am not sure they all have distinct colours. If your genres are in the file, reset the EPG database.

Yeah, unfortunately while I've implemented the required "GetRecordingEdl()" function in the addon, XBMC never calls it to get the EDL. This is because of limitations in XBMC on the types of playback streams it'll look for EDL. Unfortunately XBMC doesn't look for the EDL on http streams, which is what NextPVR and several of the other PVR addons use.

For genre, what EPG source are you using? The DVB EPG should work without any extra steps requires, but you may need to reset XBMC's EPG database.

That clears things up thanks guys :-)

I'm using xmltv as my guide source but I'll have a poke around in the mentioned files later and see what I can figure out.
