I just put out a new version, I added in a screen after you press enter on a movie. It gives you the option to either play the show or to find more shows like the selected show. I found that I really wanted to be able to click on my favorite movies and see what recommendations Netflix gave me based on it. If you press play (Spacebar) it bypasses the menu and starts playing immediately. Please let me know if you like the new feature.

Also, in putting this feature together I noticed there were quite a few movies not being added to the database, so I looked into it and found a problem with the database update function. I think I have it fixed now.

Happy watching!

Hi dhgb256,

Suddenly, last night and this morning the program isn't working for me, no changes I'm aware of anywhere. I run in Queue-Only mode, and now when I launch the program it shows the main screen and "LOADING, Please Wait..." as normal, but it sits there for several minutes with high CPU use (60% overal usage, with 2 of the 3 CPU cores pegged near 100%); then when it finishes the list is empty.

I last used the program sometime last week and it worked without issue. I'm not sure if there's been a change at Netflix that is breaking it, or if something else has gone wrong.

Logs attached.

Any ideas?

I do see in the "DownloadQueue" log the following:
Code:
Get Queue
Error: <status>
   <status_code>403</status_code>
   <message>Account inactive</message>
</status>
Establish User
Error: <status>
   <status_code>403</status_code>
   <message>Account inactive</message>
</status>
However that's definitely not true. I can login to Netflix using IE on the same computer, and watch any movie I want.

Nevermind about this, clearly something has gone wrong with the install on my HTPC though I have no idea what. I just installed it on my regular desktop PC, and it works fine. I'll figure it out on the HTPC.

ok, no matter what I do I can't get Netflix viewer to work on my HTPC any more. Completely wiping it out and re-installing it yields the same result. I do get a .net exception now though:

I can't duplicate the error, but I noticed a couple of glitchy things with my parental controls. When I went to fix it I found that I had a newer version that I never released. So see if the new version works out the problems. I recommend deleting the folder: C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Local\DHGB256 before installing the new version.

Let me know if either of these things help.

Thanks, but no change in behavior. Same high CPU use, same long delay, same .net exception.

This really makes no sense... I have checked everything I can think of, and nothing changed on the computer between the time it last worked and when it quit. The last time I installed Windows Updates was 2/16, and it definitely worked after that. I've turned off the windows firewall, there's no antivirus or internet security program that could block anything. The only thing I installed around the time it stopped working was a private-beta release of NPVR, and it doesn't seem possible that could have any effect. However I've now installed the same beta release of NPVR on my desktop PC and Netflix continues to work there. I've now installed all current Windows updates, no change with that either.

Oh well, I guess there'll be no netflix on the main tv for me anymore...

Try enabling the autologin feature in the options menu, perhaps you aren't logged in properly.
