I think so. I was able to watch live USA. Then I started a Quick Record of NCIS on it from the TV Guide. NRecord didn't die. And the file is growing and watchable. However, the TV Guide didn't show it as being recorded. (i.e. it didn't turn red)

Just FYI: The tray status shows the recording. But even after going out and going back into the TV Guide, it still doesn't show it as recording (red).

I'm not too worried about this. I'm happy to look at it later if it seems to be an on-going problem. Its not super important.

At this stage I'm just worried about the crashing recording server.

I totally agree. I was just supplying the info in case it helped point to the problem. The NCIS finished recording, so I started a Modern Family as a 2nd trial. It appears to be working. FYI on the TV Guide, it initially turned red, but then when I arrowed up to the previous channel, the Modern Family went back gray.

Thanks for looking into this. I'll be back home on Tue, I'll verify it fixes my issue too.

this patch is now in the new patch sticky. sub has already re-rolled the NPVR 3.2.9 installer to include it, so most users will not need to download it separately.

you guys who have cablecards and have installed this patch (or the updated 3.2.9 installer), can you cancel a recording in progress? JimF is reporting that the recording keeps going; as that's not happening here (I have no cablecard device), I'm wondering if it's a further bug related to this?

I'm able to cancel an in-progress recording on a cablecard tuner.
