I have been using the BlueMCE2 skin along with GBPVR for a few weeks now. I recently have been using the Theater plugin, and decided to have a go at making a nice skin for this plugin.

I spent 6 hours or so (hehe) recreating the 6 kb skin.xml file, taking ideas from various other skins.

I seem to have the look i want, and it works fine using remote control, and arrow keys. One problem tho...

I have been stumped with aligning mouseovers area to the selection images, they are out of wack a wee bit...

I am posting here to see if i can get some help from someone, i can either attach the skin.xml or send to a helpful person, not sure how to go about this. Any suggetions would be great. Smile

I have attached 3 screenshots in a zip file below

lol - can you guess the plugin was written by the US guys? I think in the states it's usually 'Theater' for a building, and 'Theatre' for art form. The UK typcially uses Theatre for both.

danka, could you replace the solid blue with #2168bc? this would fit the skin better....and then, send me your files, so i can include them into the skin and upload it to the wiki.

thanks for the hard work!

It is possible to change how the name of a plugin is presented in GBPVR - you enter info in the language.XML fil - so you can show Theatre on the screen instead of Theater.

Since I am Swedish I use this for alot of names and it also works well with characters such as åäö - some examples below

<translate originalText="TV Guide" translatedText="Tv tablå"/>
<translate originalText="Weather" translatedText="Väder"/>
<translate originalText="Theater" translatedText="Theatre"/>

It works inside the plugins to - but not always though
Using DELL P4 1.5GB RAM 250 GB HD + DLINK DNS313 netdisk 1,5TB, 2 pieces of Hauppauge PVR150 w/45-button remote, 1 Popcorn Hour 110. Win XP SP3. GB-PVR v1.4.7 Plugins: Xrecord

As I was used to the Blue MCE Skin when using Mediaportal I use it right away from the start with GBPVR...

but no support for newsfeed-plugin - so I sat down and had a first try at the skin... it's kinda very blueish - any idea how to change that?

you can always fuss with these colour codes in the skin.xml to get it looking the way you want, if thats what you are hoping to accomplish. Smile

Thanks for the link - that would help me... one thing I just realized - when u popup a description in the tv guide all gets a bit darker - do you know how to do that? I didn't find anything in the skin file... think that would help to make it look better ;-)

im fairly new at this editng stuff for skin.xml for plugins.

Here is what i think i know... Most colours are editable, but i have learned also, some of the skins can only be changed so much, as the plugin code itself does have some say in how things appear, and location on the screen.

But in general, most of the time, colours in popups can changed maually, and also its possibe to have background images appear underneath the text.

Im learning more each day, hehe

good luck mattman Smile
