Black screen on live tv, no sound.

I'm having issues playing live TV on NPVR. I get just a black screen with no sound on every channel. Live TV works perfectly in WMC.

I'm using the Ceton InfiniTV 4 PCI-e tuner, with only one of the tuners configured so far - until I get it working, then I'll copy configs over to the other four tuners - using the tutorial from the wiki and the networkrecorder plugin. My initial searches led me to believe the issue was decoder configurations. So far I've tried The Standalone filter pack (version 6, locked), ffdshow/ffdshow tryouts, and the k-lite mega codec pack and switched between every video decoder they provided with no difference. I've also switched through a few of the video renderers (EVR, VM9 and VM7 IIRC)

I am going to need to see the SageDCT Debug logs as it doesn't look like the file is growing. Are you sure this channel is Copy Freely? Configuration-wise I would suggest using delay of 4000 or 5000 for the Ceton most users report 2000 is too slow.

I switched the delay to 5000 as you specified. Log is attached. As best I can tell the channel is copy-freely. It's USAHD (and I also tried on TNTHD) on comcast, which from my brief googling offers all its standard channels on copy-freely, with only the PPV/VOD and movie channels having copy-once or copy-never.

One strange thing I noticed on the SageDCT logs is it keeps saying channel 9, which is nowhere near the channel I was (420/407) - not sure if they directly correlate.

NetworkRecorder looks like it is sending channel 420 not 9. Could you set the SageDCT debug log level to verbose, that level shows the command that is received.

Here is the verbose log from tonight. I had been playing with it earlier so I was on channel 42 when I started and changed to 420. It's also probably worth noting that when the live TV is "playing" NPVR hangs up pretty badly (which is how I got to channel 42 to begin with).

When SageDCT tunes 420 it doesn't find any mpeg-ts data

So I did a little digging and found that the SageDCT generated assignments text file was blank. I re-scanned and regenerated assignments, which gave me new port numbers. I updated networkrecorder with the new info and tried again. Still getting the same problem. I see the same line you quoted from the previous logs in the new logs. Is "PIDList: 0" the error here? I noticed connectionID and instanceID is always 0 as well, not sure if that points to anything.

Am I correct in thinking the problem is with SageDCT's configuration somehow? I just discovered that when I record channel one using SageDCT's test tab with start/stop commands I get a watchable video file, but no other channel will. It will not stream even channel 1 in NPVR. I don't know what to make of that.

Not 100% since you have a channel 2 configured in NextPVR that it doesn't find. However if you can's save withe the test tab, it won't work with NetworkRecorder
