Hello,
I have been battling with trying to get NPVR setup for about a week and am having trouble with the webserver. I have uninstall, reinstalled, ran as admin, disabled firewall, etc. There is no weblog because the service fails to start. Here is the section from NRecord.log. Any help is appreciated.

Code:

I'm wondering if it's to do with firewall/antivirus type software?

At first I added npvr to the firewall exceptions manually. Then I disabled Windows firewall. Npvr is working find on my Windows 8.1 laptop, so not sure what would be causing the issue on my desktop.

My desktop is a virtual machine if that matters at all. I am able to run other programs with a webserver just fine (xbmc, mediabrowser, couchpotato, etc).

Is NShared.dll and NRecord.exe in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\web\Bin? If should copy the current versions there just prior to starting the web server.

I am having the same problem on Win 8.1 (I originally described this at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...on-Win-8-1 and posted full error message I recieve there). I do have NShared.dll and NRecord.exe in the web\bin directory. I have also tried loading the web interface while the firewall is turned off and still cannot connect. Perhaps we have a problem with a recent update to Win 8.1? I do have some logs, which I have attached in case they help, but the logs make it look like everything is working when it was not.

dshoup, not sure if that one is the same. Looks like a different type of message.

Regardless, you could try stopping the recording service, and instead running "nrecord.exe RUN" from the command prompt (started with 'Run As Administrator') to see if the web server starts then.

Sub, thanks for the help! I'll go back to posting in my original thread (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...on-Win-8-1) so as to avoid hijacking this one (given you said it appears unrelated)...however it appears I am getting somewhere and need your help with the next step. See details in other thread.
