ndigitalhost-process does not stop after scheduled recording

If I remember correctly ndigitalhost can be turned off in the settings/recording screen by un-ticking Use out-of-process recording.... but I can't remember all the down sides to doing this, but I do remember for most people it won't cause any problem

but I don't think it will change anything about exceptor's issue. Something about the driver for his device leaves it active even when the calling process is done with it, it won't make any difference whether that process is spawned by NDigitalHost.exe or NRecord.exe. The native software for his device must send some additional command to actually turn off the device which NPVR does not because it's not needed for any other device.

...but... my usb-tuner keeps running(control-led + heat indicate this). it seems like the process stops the stream but keeps contact to the usb-device. by this the device does not switch off. killing the host process lets the device switch off completely.

NextPVR doesn't keep using the device when it's done with it. It could just be something specific to the drivers of the device you're using though. What device are you using?

As mentioned above, you can turn off 'out-of-process recording', and it wont use this NDigitalHost.exe, but then you'll just find NRecord.exe will use the device in the same way.

I don't have one.

You can set <LogTranslations>true</LogTranslations> in config.xml though, and it'll create a C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Languages\Translations.txt, which will contain a translation template for all the strings it's encountered.

If you cand find out how to create a graph in graphstudionext https://code.google.com/p/graph-studio-next/ you might be able to demonstrate the problem without using NextPVR.
