My Setup is windows 7 an Atom PC with SSD HDHomerun Dual.
I installed NextPVR and it went OK. I was able to scan and get all my channels,
I was able to get the EPG with the channels.
I could see LiveTV and it seemed OK but no audio output?
I do everything through HDMI audio and video as the computer has an HDMI output.
Is there some setting or issue with that?

AND on the record side, I set up recording the guide turned red but nothing happened.
No errors no files created just nothing.

I am a newbie not sure what to look at.

You need an AC3 audio decoder, the Microsoft decoder won't work so download either AC3Filter or LAV (both free). Is the PC's default playback device set to HDMI Output? Not sure about your recording problem, you wouldn't see live TV if you hadn't overcome the usual firewall issues, so maybe you should post logs as described in the "Getting Started" sticky thread.

Yes HDMI audio output has worked no problem for some time. I have used VLC to playback movies from my NAS
many times and have had no problem. Did no know about the AC3 filter will download asap will see what that does.
Thanks for your help, will add logs and get back with whatever happens.

I installed the codec pack and LiveTV doesn't play audio but I can see the picture.
Here is the weird stuff, I have XBMC on the same machine. If I use the NextPVR client I can play video and the audio works.

Also it will not record. Sad
Going to look at logs now. Its the oddest thing.

After installing did you select it for AC3 audio in settings decoders??

first the recording problem has something to do with not being able to record to my NAS drive.

I am recording something right now and its making a file, I dont know if its any good though.

What log, there seems to be a lot of them would help figure out whats wrong with the audio?

As a fall back are there any detailed directions on the Kodi/XBMC NextPVR client?

Martin

I am sorry, I am not seeing it at the moment. My main issues are a bit odd to me and I dont see something that says see video dont hear audio or cant record to network drive.
I have a small Atom PC with XBMC and NextPVR installed HDHomeRun Dual for over the air ATSC video not QAM. I do not have cable I using an antenna to get regular TV.

Issue 1:
I can record to the local hard with NextPVR but can not record to my mapped NAS drive.
By mapped I mean that the NAS is mapped to drive Z. I told the recording to record to z:\TVShows. I can create directories make files etc. but can not record to it.
The entire network is on a gigabit routers and the PC is hardwired to it. NoteSadI would really like it to work as it has all the space while my small Atom PC has a very small drive on it. )

Next issue is Audio,
I can see LiveTV video in NextPVR via the LiveTV menu but hear no audio. On the same machine I can watch Live TV through the XBMC software using the NextPVR client.
I installed all the codec's and that were recommended and selected them.
I am using LAV for audio and FFMpeg for video thought I might go back to the Microsoft video decoder for video it seemed better.
I will try AC3Filter as was suggested in the wiki.

More information: I have EPG works and the red bar shows up when I record. I can see most channel information.
I am going to post my record log and hope it points to something.

Another FYI I just downloaded and installed this software about a week ago so I think I have the latest of everything.

The mapping problem is you are using a drive letter not URL.

Getting logs are key to your audio problem. zip the whole folder.

I think you will have your best results, especially in the initial setup, using the Microsoft DTV-DVD video decoder and AC3 filter for audio. You might have to work through the AC3 filter settings to ensure it is decoding/routing/whatever the audio to HDMI. It works great for me for analog out, I have no experience with HDMI. The MS video decoder just works, especially for US MPEG2 streams.

NPVR will record to the NAS, you just have to ask it nicely, i.e., in the right format. Unfortunately, I don't know what that is, but many others here do. It might even be in the wiki.
