My NMT cannot connect since I upgraded to 3.3.8

The NRecord logs show an MVP server starting but there are no MVP logs to match it don't know where else sub can look. The clue might be in the Windows Event Viewer are in your anti-virus. logs

Maybe if you start manually you will see something else

I've made some progress. I had had Inbound rules for NextPVR.exe & NRecord.exe in my firewall, but not explicit Outbound rules. When I added those & manually started it, I was able to connect. I'm not sure why upgrading to a new NPVR would cause me to need Outbound rules, but it did. The task still won't start automatically. I see nothing in Event Viewer about it. Is there some way to get more debugging info into the logs?

Stop the recording service and from the command line as Administrator run

NRecord RUN > file.txt

try and connect and then Ctrl-C to end then send Nrecord.log and file.txt

I did this remotely, so I did not try to connect, but I think my problem is solved. When I ran NRecord, I got two prompts: one for UAC and one because NRecord.exe is not from a known publisher. When I said OK for both of those, I think that fixed everything. When I looked in my Logs directory, there was an MVP.log. In ProcessExplorer, I could see the NextPVR.exe -mvpmode task. I killed that & restarted the Service. It started a new NextPVR.exe -mvpmode.
I had upgraded my data hard drive over the weekend. Somehow, in doing that, I had to re-authenticate my Windows. Whatever caused that, probably also made it think my NPVR executables weren't official & I needed to let it know they were OK.

Ok great, I remember a similar problem with NDigitalhost.exe for some users, but I don't remember what caused it, I think it was dragging and dropping it from the zip file into the folder. Glad you got it sorted out.

Patch #6 in Johnson's list: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...nt-Patches contains NextPVR.exe. I probably mishandled it when I replaced it.

Here was the post I was thinking about, http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post433699 hard to tell now if that is the problem. Do you run as Local System?
