OK, I just discovered a strange problem with 3.3.8. I use an NMT almost exclusively for NPVR. This morning, I was going through my recordings list and discovered that the recording which was supposed to be CSI from last Sunday didn't contain CSI since CBS had postponed it due to a football game running late. So, I went to the TV Guide (the built-in one, not the TV Listings one which I don't use) to manually set that episode of CSI to record tonight. (The recurring recording wouldn't select it because NPVR thought it had already recorded this episode.)

That's where the strangeness began... The TV Guide didn't display ANY of the shows for tonight in red indicating that they were scheduled to be recorded! I went ahead and moved the selection to the CSI episode and then manually scheduled it to be recorded. I didn't use the normal Quick Record button on the remote like I usually do since I wanted to increase the post-padding to 60 minutes in case it was delayed. Then the guide on the NMT showed CSI in red, but still none of the other shows. I went to the pending recordings list, and they were listed there. Then I went back to the guide, and discovered that the red bar across the top of the timeline indicated scheduled recordings, but still the only individual show which was displayed in red was the manual recording of CSI.

So, next, I went to NPVR on the PC to see what it showed. It had all of the automatic recurring recordings in red, but not the manual CSI recording. (see screenshot) I then went to the pending recordings list on the PC and it definitely showed CSI as scheduled. (see screenshot) Very strange!

Then I went back to the TV Guide on the NMT to take a screen shot of what it was showing. And now, it is displaying the same thing as the PC--recurring recordings are showing as red, but the manual recording of CSI is not. At this point, I'm very confused! :-(

I've zipped and attached the logs directory. It should contain all of the server logs from this entire time. Unfortunately, I didn't have the NMT putty logging turned on, so I don't have the MVPMCX2 output.

When did you reschedule CSI? I don't see anything triggering NRecord to reload it after you deleted it but the logs might be cached.

Does it help if you run NextPVR -reload

I scheduled the manual recording before I deleted the "wrong" recording. So I think that it must have been what triggered this line in the NRecord.log file:
Code:
2014-11-09 07:27:51.099    [DEBUG][10]    Reloading recording schedule

That didn't seem to make any difference. I just ran it, then went back into the guide on the NMT, and still saw the same thing. I then tried completely Exit-ing the NMT. The MVP process reset, but the NMT hung. When I rebooted it, I restarted MVPMCX2 with logging. Went into the guide, and still saw the same thing.

I then scheduled a new recording of The Big Bang Theory. It turned red as normally expected. I then cancelled it, and it went back to the normal black background.

Updated logs (along with a Putty log from the NMT) are attached.

I think oid 107053 is your recording and it looks ok. It could be an EPG issue with Revenge being at 10:01 and CSI at 10:00 but I don't see it as an MVP server issue.

I agree, I don't think it is an MVP server issue because it displays the same way (i.e. not red) with NextPVR.exe on the PC.

This used to happen fairly frequently (scheduled recording not marked red in guide), and quite awhile ago sub fixed it for the most part, yet I still see it from time to time. I've never found any specific steps to make it happen, it just seems to do it when it feels like it. Last time I noticed it I found even restarting NextPVR.exe would not make the timeslot turn red, nor did scheduling another recording and thus forcing the recording schedule to reload (the new recording was then marked red, but the original one still wasn't). I planned to post logs and my database for sub to look at, but was busy with my kids that evening and didn't get to it in time.

Yes, I exited and restarted NextPVR on both the PC and the NMT, and the recording never turned red. And I scheduled and canceled other recordings and they turned red as expected.

I've posted the logs. And I've got a copy of the database if Sub would like it.

Yeah, if you've got a scheduled recording that never turns red in the guide, but is list in the Recordings, post the database and details of show name/time and I'll take a look.
