This may be of use to those of you that have AMD Graphics (Newer than HD5000) using the HDMI out to your TV / Monitor

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles...-5001.aspx

The Scaling over HDMI has been removed, so you no longer have to go in to CCC and move the slider to 100% for every resolution you use after a clean install.
After using it for about 45 mins this morning, with my HD7770 on a 50" plasma, I think the picture is crisper than its ever been - in addition text in Windows Programs is much more readable.

Its also about a month newer than the Omega 14.12 drivers released last week.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

cool info. I'm soon rebuilding my htpc with an A6-7400k which has a Radeon R5 graphics core, so it will benefit from that driver. I'm pretty sure I had this exact issue when I hooked up my 50" DLP via HDMI, it reduced my effective display size down to about 48" until I found that scaling slider and even then I wasn't entirely satisfied with the adjustment. I look forward to seeing any improvement from my old HD4550.

I am feeling left out.
Perhaps I should upgrade from a 40" 1080p TV to a 50" TV just so I can take advantage of this new driver?

I'd need to take out a wall to back far enough to view a 50" :-P

We only sit about 8 foot away from the screen - for that cinema experience Smile and also the couch is up against the back wall! -that's why a clearer driver was most welcome.

Also I have nearly removed the back wall on a number of occasions with a pair of Realistic Mach 1's (15" woofer - owned from new in '82) as part of the surround system - why does Windows 8.1 always reboot to full volume? Couple of days ago it had rebooted overnight without me knowing - first thing I played was a Jean Michel Jarre Aero Track that starts with a clap of thunder. I was expecting the SWAT team to burst in any moment

Sorry Neighbors - it was 6 o'clock in the morning!

like we said above, you need a 50" TV.... Big Grin

seriously though, I agree, I didn't see any difference when I installed my A6-7400k either. Maybe the older 13.4 'legacy' driver I was running on the HD4550 didn't have the problem that this new driver was solving? I dunno.. I still had to mess with the scaling slider when I hooked it to my Samsung 1080p HDTV via HDMI, even though when I was completing the build and testing it hooked up to my Samsung 1080p computer LCD via HDMI the image was exactly aligned to the screen.
