OK, maybe I can get over the bugger poos. Maybe.

I reported that .ts import time bug a few months ago, but sub said it wouldn't be trivial to fix. I do have it on the list I endlessly harass him with during pre-release testingBig Grin

In the meantime try the recover-recordings.bat I posted a day or two ago in the thread titled "restore recording database" or something like that. It will read the metadata from each file and build a recording-dump.xml.

Yeah I did have second (& third) thoughts after I had posted that comment that it probably wasn't really a good choice of wording :o oops...

I have tried that batch file a couple of times (including the other day after you posted it again) & I can't get it to do more than produce a recording-dump.xml that has
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<recordings>

in it????

It works fine for me, I just put it at the root of the recording drive and run it from a command prompt.

However, I just located the discussion about this bug, and sub indicated the metadata itself is the problem. The recording service is writing it in local time rather than UTC like it's supposed to. I realize i knew that but had forgotten, so I was still thinking the import function itself had the bug.

So creating a recording-dump.xml from the metadata won't help, at least not directly, since the times will still all be local but will be imported as UTC. You could manually edit the times in the generated recording-dump.xml though, easier than starting from scratch.

I've still got to get it to actually produce a usable recording-dump.xml first.... what command do you run, just (cd into the the recording drive) & RecoverRecordings??

Step one, I got it to work by running it from a command prompt & it actually produce something....

Step two, when I used a recording-dump like it produces yesterday to import I ended up with two different times one time on the list view & a different time in the details screen so I'm not holding my breath that I won't have to add the <Event> part to it as well like the one NextPVR produces

Code:
<recording>
    <oid>0</oid>
    <name>Back To The Future</name>
    <channel>FOUR</channel>
    <filename>H:\Movies\Back To The Future\Back To The Future_20141213_20352255.ts</filename>
    <status>READY</status>
    <startTime>2014-12-13T19:00:00.0000000Z</startTime>
    <endTime>2014-12-13T20:49:00.0000000Z</endTime>
    <Event>
      <OID>0</OID>
      <Title>Back To The Future</Title>
      <SubTitle>Back To The Future I</SubTitle>
      <Description>In this classic sci-fi adventure, eccentric inventor Doc Brown turns a DeLorean into a time machine that inadvertently sends his young friend, Marty McFly, 30 years into the past. (1985)</Description>
      <ChannelOID>7177</ChannelOID>
      <StartTime>2014-12-13T08:00:00.0000000Z</StartTime>
      <EndTime>2014-12-13T09:49:00.0000000Z</EndTime>
    </Event>
</recording>

I'm a bit dense maybe. but what's the big deal if the channel icon is wrong or a historical recording time is wrong?

To be honest the recording time doesn't worry me in the least, as long as in the details view it's the right length for the recording.... but that blasted channel logo being for the wrong channel really Really REALLY ANNOYS me.... I don't know why but it does....

Thank for asking Anthony,

I'm not sure why but it annoys me quite a bit.

Anthony.

Thanks maybe that is a NZ thing? Next month is the 50th anniversary of our Canadian flag I wonder if you will get one someday?
