You do need to reset the PVR database and maybe the recording service too.

The colors haven't worked for me since I upgraded to Helix (on either my development or production machines). It worked fine in Gotham. I've tried resetting the EPG and PVR database, restarting the NPVR recording service, rebooting the machine, etc. I finally decided it wasn't that important and gave up. But if someone has it working, I'd love to try and get it working.

Don't feel too bad, mine broke with Helix as well. I plan to wait for 14.1 and subs updated add-on before I put any serious effort into getting it working again.

That looks like one for sub. It looks like the channel.listings API doesn't return genre_type and genre_subtype anymore

You don't have an error in your web.log starting with "Unexpected error loading xbmc-genre-translation"?

Maybe they changed the user agent string (to Kodi?)? It was only adding the genre_type and genre_subtype if it detected the user agent contained 'XBMC'.

I tried the patched DLL but it didnt work for me.
I tried stopping the nextPVR Service as well as the SageDCT Service.

I placed the new DLL into the C:\Users\Public\NPVR\web\Bin directory
I placed Martin's xbmc-genre-translation.xml inot C:\Users\Public\NPVR
Then I set the colors in nPVR > Settings > Misc2 > Genre Coloring

But I'm having the same problem as before.. The selections are not being saved in nPVR

I hadn't tested myself but I can now confirm it works.

You wouldn't have been able to apply the patch with the service running, maybe the order was wrong and try again, also kill tray app SageDCT won't matter.
