Trying to get haupp 45 button to work with npvr

I have been trying to get the hauppauge 45 button remote to control the npvr with out much lick! I did manage to get it to do some things like scroll down in main menu and select TV guide but not very good . I edited the irremote to do this but was not completely sure i did it rite .I found the irremote file on the wiki and downloaded it and installed it this is not working very good either like if i get into live tv and hit the green power button it shuts down the whole computer . I probably have done something wrong or just don't understand . I will attach my logs and may be someone here can help me thx in advance

Instead of trying to force the Hauppauge remote to work after I retired my Media MVP's I bought one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Windows-Media...2310d45fd7 Just plugged the receiver into a USB port on my server and started using the remote. I just have to be careful NOT to hit the green button while using NPVR because it will launch Windows Media Center instantly (we have to use it to view/record DRM'd channels )

it should be possible to get the remote working fine without needing to buy new hardware.

Did you restart ir32.exe after changing /installing the irremote.ini file (you must)?
did you definately install the file in c:\windows?
in taskmanager, is ir32.exe running?

upload your c:\windows\irremote.ini file for us to look at it.

I can get the menu to come up sometimes today after changing the # 1 to 2 in the irremote file I forgot this was a 64 bit system .

I was able to get that method to work (and only this way) by replacing every instance of "(WindowsForms10.Window.8.app.0.33c0d9d,,)" with "(,nPVR)"

or you could define irremote.ini to send keyboard command instead. (seems simpler to me).
I don't use the hauppague remote any more but this is what I had in my ini file.

ok thx for the suggestions but I still have not got it to work right! What is a puzzle to me is today after editing the ini file I had it working just fine then I restarted the computer and now It does not work . ir exe is running ,npvr recording works fine I can view shows I have recorded (using mouse ) or keyboard its like a gremlin is playing with me I thought it might be batteries but they are good ,the blaster lights up on start of computer so I take it the ir receiver is working. May be I will go down a different road

Let's have a look at the edited .ini - often it's "trivial" things that send it off. Once properly configured, this remote is solid. It may help if you post logs, too.
