Just as the Title states, my web server up and stopped working. I was adding a new HDHOMERUN to my available tuners, applied the settings and went to my Kodi install to see my changes. Kodi was unable to connect to NextPVR and I have yet to solve it. I went to the server running NextPVR and tried to connect to it's ip:8866 with no response. I have since tried to uninstall/reinstall with no success, disabled firewalls. I have deleted the folder from the Users/Public folder to start fresh. I am now completely frustrated and not sure what to do next. Please help, the software was working amazingly until now. Attached are the only logs available right now with my install.

I can't see any obvious sign of errors in those logs.

If you stop the recording service, and run "nrecord.exe RUN" from the command line, does it give any error message?

Do you have a web.log?

So very strange. I stopped the service, then ran that command from prompt and the web server started working. A web.log did not exist until I was able to run it from cmd line. However, I then stopped the service and ran the "start npvr service" and the web server did not come back up. Only way I am able to launch it is from command line for the moment. Attached is the 2 new web logs along with the console output. Thanks for helping!

Edit:

Went over to Kodi and saw the TV section was working again. I went to the EPG, selected a show to watch and it was unable to stream. The TV tab disappeared and the web server is down again. Added the web.log file to the zip after this failure.

I'm not really sure what to suggest on that one.

When started as a service, it runs as a different user account. I'm guessing it's something do with permissions, or firewall/antivirus related.

You could maybe try configuring the service to run as your user account instead of the system one.

I tried changing the account type to my user account with the same results. Firewall is disabled, still no success. I even deleted the install again, manually deleted the service and reinstalled but to no avail. The only way I can start the web server is by command line now Sad. The service shows running but it's like it never tries to launch the web server. If you have more things for me to try I am all ears.

Windows 8.1 x64 if that matters

Sorry, I'm not sure what else to suggest on that one.

I'm still a little heart broken over here. I cannot wrap my head around it working great for months to not being able to recover the functionality even after an uninstall, but running it manually via cmd line works fine. Looking at the Event log, it says service started successfully, WTF.

If there is anything I can do short of wiping my system I am game at this point. It really really really sucks getting the system to function exactly as you need it to over weeks of tweaking only to have it cease to function for not apparent reason. Just airing out my frustrations, it is not meant to be read as ungrateful. I actually love this backend and only wish to get it going again Smile

Well, I bit the bullet and just started over. I'm back up and running with a Windows refresh. Hope I never have to do that again Smile
