OK, makes sense if Video Archiver does indeed purge the recording schedule table that Xrecord wouldn't find them anymore...
Jeff, is there a flag or config somwhere that could deactivate or control this? (although that's not really related to Xrecord anymore Big Grin )

The Video Archive plug-in does not purge the recording schedule table. The only time it removes things is if you go into pending recordings (the blue button), select a pending recording, and then select delete. If things are being purged, it is because GBPVR is removing them itself. What I do in the video archive plug-in is monitor the recordings directory and, as soon as a recording file is created, I copy (not move) the information into the video archive plug-in's database so that if at any time the recording is removed from the GBPVR database I still have a copy around. Since I copy it basically within seconds of the recording starting (assuming you have GBPVR running at all times) I should always have everything that you have ever recorded in my database.

Did just a little more testing. I took out xexport, and the file was lost again when renamer ran. What seems to happen is if both are there, then renamer works and the name is updated in the db (by xexport), but it's not finishing up by making the dat.

Just posting in case others are having a problem, and this helps. It could also be I'm still using 0911 until the next release.

do you mean the name is updated in the database by renamer. (Xexport just exports the data from the database to a file).

If xexport is there by itself without the renamer does it work?

Here's what I did:

I put back renamer (in postproc), and after it, xedxport -all. I recorded something, it renamed, and it was still in xrecord. No dat file, though. This worked 2x.

To test a theory, I took out xexport, and recorded again. This time it renamed, didn't do the update in DB, and it was lost to recording panel (found under videoes).

In truth, I don't know if it was in the DB, now that I think of it. It was just still in xrecord. Since there was no dat file w/ info, I assumed it would needed the info in the DB, and that would need to be right to be visable.

that is odd. since xexport is not modifying the database just reading it. If you had all of the information and there was no .dat in the same directory as the mpeg it had to be in the database.

I am not sure what is happening. I should take a look at the code for the renamer.

I'm going to test again. I'll do one w/ just rename again, and one w/ xexport after it. I'll check the DB this time.

Nvr mind....I managed to get rename to work w/o xexport.

I guess the only thing I can prove is I can't get xexport to run, either w/ "1%" or -all. That's not a problem for now.
