If a recording failed, it should say an error reason on the Recordings screen.

You mean in the 'show status' window? Or the actual program itself? I just set a recording, then I tried to block it by using the turner before it had a chance. I didn't notice anything on the status window.

It does do a second chance recording, but if that fails, it'll note the error and mark the Scheduled Recording as a failure and move on.

I was thinking of adding the ability to try again after it has given up, for example, you do a manual record, and it happens to run 1-2 mins over the scheduled start of another program.

In the Recordings screen of NextPVR, with the recording selected, you should see a failure reason. I can try to get you a screenshot tomorrow.

Sorry - if failed a couple of times, the app is going to mark it as a failure and move on. It's unlikely I'd change this. I can understand it might be nice for this scenario with the HDHR, but honestly I'm not going to bother complicating an already complicated area of the recording service to handle more retries.

I haven't ever seen the error message show up until the recording end-time has passed. During the recording time I just see "Recording" as the status. Afterwards, the status will change to red text with a reason for the failure.
