I'm having a weird problem with comclean. My first try was perfectly successful; comskip didn't do exactly what it should have, but comclean seemed to cut the files right where comskip told it to.

However, I'm having a problem now where the original file is getting renamed to showname_original.mpg, and the log says that a clean file is being generated, but the clean file is nowhere to be found! It only happens sometimes, and other times, the files show up.

It is solved now

But, it did find commercials. The most recent was an hour long show, and comskip identified three commercial breaks. Then comclean didn't cut any of them. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you as to what "didnt' find commercials" means? I'll try the new version.

thanks!

The new version works when no commercials are found.
In your case it does not make a difference
Please post the txt file that shows the found commercials so I can test

Sure thing, erik, here you go:

by the way, This one I did manually, and here's what I got in response to my attempt:

Your manual run shows that comclean does the right thing but mpgtx has a problem with [0:21:57-0:34:14] range the so I tried to reproduce it.

I did test with another mpeg file but with your commandline.
No problem.
Then I created the .txt file from your post and again no problem
I used version 0.0.2

Are you sure you do not try to clean an already cleaned file?????
This may cause the [0:21:57-0:34:14] range to fail because mpgtx runs into the end of the file

No, there's no way that it's an already cleaned file, because it's an old file and I just got comclean yesterday. I ran comskip on the file manually then ran comclean on it manually, and I got this result.

Is there any way my recordings could have something wrong with them? I don't know what that something would be...

Maybe something in the mpg file is corrupt after 30 minutes.
What do you use to record?

If you still have the file that failed could you do a manual run with this commandline.

(please remove any spaces in the file names that seam to appear caused by the forum software)

Code:
"c:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\mpgtx.exe" -j -f -o "d:\tv\recordings\Scrubs\Scrubs_20050222_21002130_clean.mpg" "d:\tv\recordings\Scrubs\Scrubs_20050222_21002130.mpg" [0:21:57-0:34:14]

If this failes there is something wrong with the mpg file.
Check if it is longer that 34:14 minutes
