Hello -

I am moving over from using BeyondTV because I would like to integrate a HD-PVR 2 which I have connected to my Cable STB. I also have two Hauppauge 1600 tuners which I drive with an antenna for OTA reception. I have gotten the 1600's integrated in and the HD-PVR 2 recognized, EPG loaded, etc. Where I am having problems is figuring out how to get NPVR to send the channel commands to the STB through the USB-UIRT. I am using EventGhost and the USB-UIRT for controlling my Kodi front-end and other programs. I downloaded HIP to give it a try but I am missing something in understanding how to get this configured. I have searched the forum (and the Wiki) and although there are lots of hints I cannot find a post/entry that walks through how to set up NPVR and the USB-UIRT blaster. In BTV this was integrated in the package so I have yet to put this part of the chain together.

Any help or a link to an explanation would be great!

What exactly is the problem with configuring HIP?

I found this though it may be obsolete ... http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tips/HipGuide2

NextPVR is the child of GBPVR that is described in the link. The NextPVR equivalent to the GBPVR screens is at Settings --> Devices and setup the device that is connected to the STB.

Thank you - that does help clear up some of the questions I had. I will give this a try and see if I can get it set up.

OK - so I have gotten farther than I did before following the steps in the link. In fact, when I run Hipsend from the command line it actually tunes the STB. I even was able to pad the channels and set the gap so that the STB responds very reliably from the command line. However, after I set up the HD-PVR 2 in Settings, when I go to the EPG and try to watch the show there is no tuning of the STB. In the settings, I set it to "executable" and identified the path to Hipsend. The argument is set for "channel". It looks like it should work...

With that setting now set, try highlighting your channels (in the Settings->Devices->HDPVR2 screen), and right click and select 'update to current config'.

Went back to devices, selected all the channels associated with HD-PVR 2 and clicked "update to current configuration". Still does not send commands to the STB. I can still command it through the cmd window manually calling hipsend.

Try watching TV or doing a recording then zip and attach the nrecord.log, and I'll check if NextPVR is running the command.

So here are the log files. What I tried to do was go to the TV Guide and watch Channel 946 (Ovation). I can tune this if I use a cmd window and type in "hipsend 946". The STB shows the number inputs as they are entered. However, when I use NPVR, nothing happens. The video from the HD-PVR 2 will come up but it will be whatever the last station the STB is tuned to, not the one requested. I looked at "NRecord.log" and it seems the command is being given, the channel is correct and it has the correct location of Hipsend. Thank you for your help.

So I also tried building a little .bat file, which called up HipSend with command "C:\Users\Ed\HipSend.exe {946}" (this is the location of HipSend.exe) and it tuned the STB perfectly. I am a bit baffled.
