Scheduled recording isn't really scheduled???

I'm having an odd issue. My wife will kill me if I don't get this fixed. I went to Search and found all the shows that are coming up over the next couple of weeks that I want to record. Everything worked as expected until I tried scheduling my wife's show, Nashville. I set up the recording and selected to record new episodes like I did for every other show. There were no errors, but when I click OK the show didn't get highlighted in red like it should. I went to pending recordings and it isn't there either. I rebooted my computer and tried setting up the recording again. The log looks like this:

To me, it looks like it is updating an already scheduled recording, but when I look at pending recordings it isn't there. If I go back to Search and find it again, it still looks like there is nothing scheduled. Any ideas?

My guess is that NextPVR thinks that these are not "new" recordings. The NextPVR database contains a table that keeps track of deleted recordings. My understanding is that NextPVR considers a show to be "new" if there is no Ready recording and no entry in the "deleted" table for the show. The way that a show is identified depends upon the EPG source. In some cases, NextPVR uses the series and episode numbers to identify a show. In other cases (including Schedules Direct (I suspect)) there is a unique id in the EPG data.

Just do a Quick Record for tonight, that will let you live for another week and hopefully get the season recording fixed. I just let my season recordings (new on this channel) run over the summer, and it picked up Nashville for tonight as a new episode.

I'm pretty sure it'll just be what the guys said above, where it's not recording these episodes because you already have them, or have deleted them recently.

I want you to hit the 'update epg' button and post the npvr.log, we can check for you.

I am still experiencing this issue. I think this may be partly due to removing an originally scheduled recording on a different channel. I originally set this show to record on OTA 6.1 (WPVI-HD). However, that channel is VHF and has occasional stuttering on that channel so I removed that recording so that I could set it up to record on 806 (Comcast ABC). This is where the issue began. I just updated the guide and tried to setup the recording again, but was unsuccessful. I attached the log.

On the Recordings->Recurring screen, the logs show you have a shitload of different recurring recordings for Nashville (like a dozen or so), and most look exactly the same. I'm sure you didn't mean to do that, so the first thing I'd do is go in to that screen, and delete all the recurring recordings you don't need.

Pretty much the only episode it's finding is one you've recently deleted, so it's no rerecording it:

I still haven't been able to straighten this out. I removed all the reoccurring scheduled recordings for Nashville. Then, I created a single recording on the correct channel, but I'm still seeing this in the logs:

I've attached the log. I'm not sure why it says recently deleted. Does that mean the scheduled recording was recently deleted? If I set the recording back up, shouldn't it update so it knows that I want it to record now?

I think it should, but it doesn't. I've requested an enhancement for the next version to correct this, but I don't know if it will make the cut.

For now, you can schedule the upcoming episodes with single recordings and wait until fresh episodes show up in the EPG - those will be recorded by the recurring recording.

Or you can run "nextpvr-exe -removehistory" to purge the recently_deleted history, then update the epg.
