Freeview UK Accurate Recording Support?

I believe the answer is no, it uses the timing from the epg which can be taken from the over the air epg or an online source - both usually downloaded in the night.

This is probably a good thing - from Wikipedia:

Since this is based on signals from the broadcaster, the broadcaster can prevent recording by sending nonsense signals as a form of copy protection, as already happens on music channels. However, this can be circumvented by specifying a timer recording instead of a program recording

and you can bet they make sure all the adverts are included in the programs they will let you record

I'm not so sure that Wikipedia "nonsense signals" is entirely accurate. From experience, my ageing PVR which does support Accurate Recording, has no padding setting at all and always catches the entire programme without any issues on all the main terrestrial channels. Only very rarely (usually Channel 4) do I have to fast-forward at the beginning. So, yes, you're right that they do make sure all the adverts are included!

It would be great to see NextPVR support Accurate Recording if it's technically possible. I don't know of another PVR software that does support it though?
