OK, so I'm trying to switch over to SD from MicroSoft.

I would like to continue using MC2XML to first create an XML file because I want to be able to modify the file to give me movie years, original air date, etc.

I am able to generate the new SD XML file, but finding it difficult to map the channels.

Before I get too crazy, I just want to know if this can be done?

Thanx.

It's not clear what you're trying to ask. There is nothing that'll stop you from doing this. You can continue to use xmltv with SD if you want.

Somehow or another I lost my channel numbers when I go to the Settings/Channels/Channel Detail/Mapping box.

i.e A&EHD is all that's displayed; at one time the channel number (831) was also displayed.

It gets a little more difficult when the local channel numbers aren't displayed.

I'm sure I did something to cause this problem; I was just wondering if there is some DB table that needs to be cleared out?

To be honest, if you're doing a major change of EPG, you're probably best to start from scratch with an empty database (then hopefully 'Bulk Map' will do all the mappings for you), then reimport your recordings. If you're gonna try that, definitely backup your original database file though.

OK thanx; not anything I'm looking forward to.
Still haven't zipped up the Ceton thing entirely, so the SD conversion will have to wait.

I blew away the DB, did the scan of device but the problem looks the same.

Just to be sure, I am using XMLTV as my EPG source, pointing to the SD XML file created by MC2XML, right?

The channels available for mapping look like they are the result of when I originally used SD as my EPG source.

Yes, if you're wanting to use XMLTV.

After you initially scan for channels, go to the Settings->Channels tab, hit 'Bulk Map', and set the one of the channels to XMLTV and manually set the mapping for it. After that it'll offer to try mapping the rest automatically for you.

ie, kind of like this video, but XMLTV instead of Schedules Direct. Process should be the same.

That's the problem; I can't find an XMLTV channel to match up with the one I'm trying to map.

I guess sometime I'll have to fire up Teamviewer for you Smile
