What was your EPG Source set to? XMLTV or Schedules Direct? I take it you could see your channels listed at the bottom of the screen, like in the screenshot I provided?

Why did you set it to channel 5? I've never known of a STB that output the signal on channel 5. I'm quite sure that it should be either channel 3 or channel 4. There is most likely a switch on it to select either channel 3 or channel 4.

I checked the converter box yesterday: it has the setting of channel 3 (it could also be set to 4 -- but on my television the default is to channel 3).

Try starting the 'NPVR Recording Service'. If that doesn't work, zip and attach your logs directory.

So then in the NextPVR device setup, you need to set it to Fixed Channel 3.

It looks like there is some problem starting the service: when I press on the command to start service it goes through the process and then the blue screen goes away with a small white square message saying "Stopped." I am enclosing the log file.

Try running "nrecord.exe RUN" from the command line to see if it gives you any error.
