Hi folks,

I noticed that I've been recording doubles of a few shows, usually shows from cable stations that repeat programming every 3-4 hours.

I looked in the web admin and it shows that it's a season recording but the time slot is like 4 hours wide. Is there a way to edit this to tighten it up? I've tried deleting the recording and re-adding the season and it comes back the same.

If I delete the scheduled recording and then do a quick record it just records the half hour show.

The worst part is it's not consistant, most of them shows work fine,it just seems like some shows that repeat within a few hours trigger this 4 hour window.

Here are some examples:

Reoccurring
Quality: Medium
Season
12:00 AM - 4:00 AM 43
TOONCP Futurama

Reoccurring
Quality: Medium
Season
5:00 PM - 9:00 PM 14
TDCC Frontiers of Construction

Reoccurring
Quality: Medium
Season
6:00 PM - 10:00 PM 14
TDCC Extreme Engineering

Reoccurring
Quality: Medium
Season
10:30 PM - 2:30 AM 24
WTVS This Old House

Any ideas on how to stop this or how to edit the recordings?

So I guess there's no way to edit the recording times?

If you look in your config.xml file you will see a line like
<AllowableTimeslotVariance>120</AllowableTimeslotVariance>
This is the amount (in minutes) plus or minus that GBPVR uses when looking for shows in a time slot. To tighten it up just edit the number. FOr example, to make it only match recordsing that start +/- 30 minutes from what you have specified use
<AllowableTimeslotVariance>30</AllowableTimeslotVariance>

Wow! GB-PVR just never stops to amaze me. I've always thought that it only matched on the exact same time, so to be safe I tend to do a "record all shows on this channel" and then delete the ones I don't need.

I guess by now, I really should know better than to doubt the cleverness of this program...!

Thanks again Sub (and Jeff for pointing this out)!
