At what point is fan art downloaded for a show? I have Schedules Direct and have cleared out the Thumbnails and Shows directories. When I launch the popup for a particular show, it seems just to download the poster and nothing else.

It downloads it either when you press enter on a show in the TV Guide, or when you record a show.

The process is somewhat changed in the next release.

Sub. Could you add toggles to put SD or FanArt.tv priority and same for SD or TMDB for movie posters.

Found out from Emby forums, that they use 360 x 270, which is 4:3. I wonder whether 16:9 will show something useful in Emby, if it limits how the image is shown (check out the attachment, it uses 360 x 270). I don't know how 16:9 image will scale into that area. Of course if it's possible to dig into settings and change this to user liking it's no problem. Smile

They look awful to me, it doesn't look they are doing proper scaling as it is. Emby should move into the 21st century. It looks like the use thumbs not landscape.

I agree that it doesn't do proper scaling, but since we are probably going to 16:9, how would that look in that slot? I thought landscape option would be the thumb?

EDIT: Plain white text could also be disabled.

I'm going to do tests later this day on how different aspect ratios will fit into those slots. I will report my findings later.

Left picture is 16:9 and the right one is 4:3. The 4:3 is better right now for Emby use.
@sub I would suggest these settings from Schedules Direct could be available to be customized by user:

category: screen still/iconic (I believe this is the difference between normal landscape and thumb?)
text: yes/no
aspect ratio: 4:3/16:9.

If Emby were to make changes in the future, it would be just easy to change the specific setting by user in NPVR.

Neither of those are any good in that screenshot. In that case it's expecting 1:1 aspect ratio picture (ie, square not 4:3 or 16:9)

Yes, but to my understanding SD doesn't provide 1:1 with that. Emby doesn't seem to use that particular "slot" in it's FTV/Android TV guide. http://emby.media/community/index.php?/b...re-tv-app/. This is Emby issue right now, but it seems to handle 4:3 better than 16:9.

What Emby seems to use is 4:3 aspect ratio, with high enough resolution to cover that "Friday Night Football" in the link. If I wanted to change from landscape, which seems to be people centric to thumb images (which Emby use), or other way around, would there be an option to do that?
