No image and sound Live TV

Hi,

When I choose "Live TV" from NPVR 3.5.7 menu I always get a black screen with no sound. I looked to my C:\temp folder and a .ts file appears when I see the black screen and disappears when I hit ESC key and go back to the main menu. I also tried to install the SAF6 codec package and ensured that I've seleced a MPEG2 video decoder (LAV). Note that the recording feature works properly.

I've attached my log files for details. My system runs Windows 10 x64 and my tuner is a Silicondust HDHomeRun.

Does that file grow, or stay at zero bytes long? If the latter (stays zero bytes long), then you've almost certainly got firewall software blocking the data arriving from the HDHomeRun.

The file grows. I double check my firewall and NextPVR, NRecord and NDigitalHost are maked as autorized.

If it's not growing, then it is probably firewall related. The only other reason this for HDHR users, is some users need to set their Main App in to 'ATSC Other' or 'Mediaportal' (in HDHR Setup utility).

Maybe I should have tested this before but 3 channels out of my 8 seems to work perfectly. All others either stay completely black (specially the one I wanted to watch today) or display couple frames per minute. Any known root cause for this behaviour?

You need to narrow down if it's a recording or a playback problem (live tv is both at the same time, so just confuses issues). ie Try recording these channels, and check if the file plays fine in another player like VLC. If they play in another player, but not in NextPVR, then it'll come down to your choice of decoders and/or renderers (stick to EVR and default audio renderer).

I recorded an episode from one of these channels and I was unable to read the 3GB .ts file using VLC. I double-checked with an episode that I've previously recorded and it worked in VLC.

If you want to use CutChunk to cut a 20MB-100MB chunk of that file, and put it somewhere like dropbox or onedrive or google drive, I'll download the file and take a look it for you.
