i did have it working here, by editing the BlueMCE2 main menu skin.xml, after installing VA a week or so ago. It would display weather, and recordings

maybe someone else can shed some light on this

Also, if you install the new version of the panel (which I just posted on the wiki last night) you can now use the VA panel as the screen saver, so it will display useful informaiton like the time and wather while you are in screen saver mode.

i wanted to fix the tahoma <-> arial problem but first i want to ask you bluemce2-users, which font would be the better one...

then i will implement the va-panel in the skin. to have it working you'll have to uncomment it in the main skin.xml-file. maybe i will use it as a screensaver...

so just wait a bit and in the meantime, tell me about your favourite fonts ;-)

use it for testing only! i have added the video-archiver-panel to the main-menu. if you don't want to use it, you have to comment it out. i have also changed the font for the live-guide and the timeline-colors.

the fm-radio should work too....

anyone who wants to try it out, download it and post some feedback please, so we can upload it to the wiki..

First thing I noticed is the Recording Soon text on the main screen is broken. All I see is "@priorityrecording" in red letters at the bottom left side of the screen. This isn't a problem in the wiki version I installed yesterday.

In the Recordings Menu, if you access the reoccurring sub menu and edit any one of the recordings listed, the selection overlay overlaps the Update and Cancel buttons. Also, the spacing between the show names and the submenu title overlap. (See screen shot below.)

i told you i activated the va-panel for testing. maybe the error in your first post comes frome that. the recording-menu will be fixed soon....

try to comment the va-panel-line and uncomment the recording-panel... i will have a closer look at this.

Is that what you meant? LOL! I thought the VA panel referred to changes with the skinning of the Video Archive plugin! Who do I have to torture to get the VA plugin skinned so it looks all nice and pretty like the rest of the MCE interface?

no, it is just the va-panel, nothing to do (well nearly nothing...) with the video-archiver. if you are skinning the video-archiver or have started doing it you can send me your files and we (me and others) will include it in the next release...
