Assuming that playback of recordings is still okay and it is Live TV that does not work ... some trial and error might help ... Install AC3filter ... http://www.ac3filter.net/

Set all, yes all, audio decoders to disabled and then set AC3 to AC3 filter leaving all others at disabled. Depending on the results of that, you could try setting MPEG1 to LAV (leaving the AC3 setting unchanged). if you are still not getting a result.

Haven't a clue ... Live TV uses buffer files to allow pause and rewind of Live TV ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ation.Misc

Are there permissions problems or a missing folder or anti-virus software interfering?

I see a .ts file created in live tv buffer folder that then disappears after I close next pvr. The size of the file stays 0kb no matter how long I let it run. I have permissions for everyone to have full rights. The only A/V software on it is windows defender.

The NextPVR Recording Service spawns processes that communicate with the tuner and there is one process for each tuner. These processes create the ndigitalhost logs. An attempt to watch Live TV created entries in ndigitalhost-28.log ...

It seems that the stream-type-unknown may be the reason for the empty file during Live TV (I have no clue why recordings work if Live TV doesn't). I have read in previous posts that there is a configuration program for HDHR devices that allows you to select the application with options that include "None/default" or "Mediaportal". Maybe try "Mediaportal" or "None" (just guessing).

Maybe try loking at the permissions for the buffer directory, does everyone have full access?

In Settings --> Devices, tick off "Use Reverse Priority For Live TV" so NextPVR does not use reverse priority for Live TV.

NextPVR tries to use the topmost tuner for a recording and, if that tuner is busy or does not have the channel, NextPVR tries the next tuner down in the list and so on until it finds a tuner that is suitable.

For Live TV, when "Use Reverse Priority For Live TV" is ticked on, NextPVR starts at the bottom for Live TV. By having no tick in "Use Reverse Priority For Live TV" you are telling NextPVR to start at the top for recordings and for Live TV so a test of Recording and a test of Live TV should use the same tuner.

Guess I should have been more specific, does the user that runs NDigitalHost have permission to write to the drive that holds the buffer directory? Since recording and playback of recordings works ok it is not a matter of decoders. Exactly where is the buffer directory? Windows considers certain directories protected and not writable.
