Sapphire Theatrix greenlighted?

Hey sub,

I was thinking of adding a Theatrix 550, which is probably the "best bang for the buck" in Israel, but was unable to find its max resolution in the PAL version. Can you please tell me if it really does the full 720x576?

The reason I am asking is that I have seen quite a few of the cheaper cards (mainly the SW encoders cards, but also some Pinnacle HW encoders) that only did 720x480, even for PAL!

Still no solution. I managed to get sound in Beyond TV by selecting country China, but not in GB-PVR.

Anyone can confirm working with a PAL PowerColor card based on the Theater 550?

I saw in the Wiki that this card is still not mentioned.
How does it work - am I allowed to go in and change it myself, to add this card to the documentation?

I'm using a TUL/PowerColor Theater 550 with gbpvr in New Zealand (PAL B) and it is working fairly well.

There is a couple of gbpvr files that have to be edited to get it working correctly:

The TV channel tuning doesn't work very well at detecting low signal TV stations. You can manually enter the channel frequencies but nicam sound doesn't work when you manually enter the frequency.

You can now adjust the MPEG encoding bit-rate, thanks to Sub (although I note the sound bit-rate still can't be set)

The picture quality is good but has slightly soft edges compared to a standalone TV, and tracks motion exceptionally well without any jerkyness.

The CyberLink remote and IR pickup (comes with package) uses the same basic commands as the Microsoft MCE remote but with added propriatory buttons, so mostly works on gbpvr when set to "MCE remote".

Thanks a lot! I appreciate it. I rummaged the forums and found enough evidence that it will work, so already yesterday I placed an order for the PowerColor Threater 550 card, and was supposed to go pick it up today (in stock, cool!) but the store is an hour's drive away and I was too tired. Hope I'll get it tomorrow.

@sub - in case I need to force the standard like csy did (and since Israel isn't listed in the countries, AFAIK), what should I use?

I've added Israel to the list of countries for the next build.

I think Israel uses PAL B? If so, use '16'

It clearly states that Israel is PAL B/G.

I've added Israel to the list of countries for the next build.
