Is it possible to change the positioning of the menu items in the slideout skin (and if so, how).
I had a play around with skin files but to no avail. Admittedly, I am a bit of a numpty when it comes to skin tweaking.

Also....Would it be possible (feature request) to keep the layout of the slideout menu (i.e. font) without including the "slideout feature" of showing an image of the plugin's last screen image. Whilst I find it kind of neat, my family find this somewhat confusing. However I can't just use the vertical menu as this really looks a but naff (in comparison to the slideout menu)

This request was inspired by my lifting a cool image from (iirc) http://www.deviantart.com to use as a backdrop.

I'm not quite sure what items you are asking about here??

You can alter the vertical menu to look just like the slideout menu but without the slideout happening, using the same font & size is pretty straight forward, getting the right number of items on the left is also straight forward when you know that you can add visibleButtons="X"

something like this
<Element name="MenuButtonNormal" location="30,11" size="40,10" visibleButtons="12" buttonOffset="12.5">

hope that is of some help??

Thanks Jaggy,

Yep, that got me started thank you (mainly by pointing me at the right files to edit!).
I ended up with tweaking around some more with the vertical menu to get the menu items sized and positioned how I wanted them. Howrever I still like the look of the slideout menu items but I'd just prefer it without the ghost of the previous menus screen. However I cannot see where this is configred within any of the skin xml files (as stated, I dont know much about the skin files).

Why not just change the font to the same font as sub uses for the slideout menu??

He has font="MenuItems" for the vertical menu whereas (if you look in the slideout skin) font="Title3" for it

I found the best way to do these types of tweaks is to have both skins open at once (one at the top & one below) then you can do comparisons between the two Wink

ok, so that's pretty much how I want it, except I can't see to work out how to get the menu icons that you get with slideout. I tried pasting slideout.xml inot vertical.xml and the icons didn't appear so their is either another xml file I need to edit else Sub has (dare I say it) hardcoded elements of slideout.

many thanks

Try setting <SlideOutTransparency>0</SlideOutTransparency> in config.xml, then the you shouldn't be able to see the previous task on the right side.
