Every once in a while the recording engine locks up. I notice when checking tuner status from the tray icon, it shows up empty. It's happened two or three times over the last few months. I figured I would upload logs and ask the experts if they could see anything out of the ordinary in the them that would explain why it was locking up. I caught it early this time with the most recent lockup around 2:00pm on 4/3

Thanks for any assistance given.
Chris

Code:
2016-04-03 13:59:12.731    [DEBUG][9]    Executing: C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\hdhomerun_config.exe 131EBFCB set /tuner2/lockkey 99047
2016-04-03 13:59:15.303    [DEBUG][8]    Done fanart.tv lookup
looks to me like process 9 never got a response after asking for a tuner lock, and that's probably a blocking call so the whole works went night-night after that. can't tell you why there was no response though. all other tuner lock calls in your log complete in less than 50ms.

Would it be possible to change the code so it's not a non-blocking call so it could recover gracefully with an error report?

Maybe someone with an HDHomeRun can try to find out in what scenario that happens? ie, if there is another client using a tuner with a lock key set, does hdhomerun_config.exe just hang? I've never seen other reports of it hanging.

I've modified it to wait a maximum of 20 seconds in the next release. If it times out, it'll make the recording as failed, and note 'Failed to lock HDHR device'

The machine the server is running on is a dedicated backend. There's no viewing at all and no other apps running on it. It just hangs and it doesn't do it very often. Three times in the last three or four months and it didn't happen at all for the first 4 or 5 months after switching from 2250's to Primes. I do suspect it's a flaky prime since I've had issues with them that I can't quite nail down since they don't happen very often.
