I started a thread over at Kodi Forums http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=271265

I'm trying to set up NextPVR as a client so I can watch recorded and live tv using NextPVR on my laptop rather than using Kodi exclusively. (there are A/V sync issues)

Can someone point me to a guide on how to do this? I'm pretty sure the db is not properly shared.

(from your post on the kodi forum...)
Quote:Is this npvr.db3 file on a share that I should be able to see through windows file sharing?
Yes. ie, if you've specified the share as \\server\share, then you should be able to view \\server\share in Windows Explorer and see the npvr.db3 file in that directory. If you can't see it, then the share you've specified is incorrect, or not shared correctly on the server.

If your 'users' directory is shared, then you might be specifing a server share like: \\server\Users\Public\NPVR

Where do I find the db to share on the server? What settings should it have?
Am I sharing the NPVR folder from /users/<me>/appdata/roaming/nextpvr ? or some other folder?

Also, is it better to use netbios names or the ip address? does it make a difference for this purpose?

I'm using Windows 7 SP1 x64

It's in c:\users\public\npvr.

Usually either are OK. Some people have had to use IP addresses though, so this might be safer.
