Hi Folks,

-During a tv recording playback, pressing the Stop button will cause npvr to freeze to a blank (black) screen.
-The hard drive activity light will remain on for about 30 seconds then go out.
-It will stay in this state indefinitely.
-Double tapping the keyboard or trying to close the app will generate the windows "close program or wait" dialog box. Selecting close will successfully close the program.
-Observe same behavior using the MCE remote button, or npvr screen software button.
Not always consistent behavior. About one in two times it will do this
-Confirmed recording playback is not playing a recording currently being recorded.
-Same behavior observed on windows 10 and a windows 7 machine.
Latest updates installed.
Using NPVR 3.5.7 Logs for both PCs attached

Appreciate your time and help

You could try unregistering NPVRCCExtractor.ax to see if it makes any difference.

Same problem. How do you unregister NPVRCCExtractor.ax? Problem started after I installed the latest version. I don't know if it is related but I had to go through all my channels to tell NextPVR to use Schedules Direct after upgrade.

From a command prompt started with 'run as administrator', run:

regsvr32 /u "c:\program files (x86)\npvr\NPVRCCExtractor.ax"

I've not seen any other reports of that being required. If happens again, supply your npvr.db3 file and I'll check why.

I tried unregistering NPVRCCExtractor.ax and registering it and the problem seemed to follow Except for the first time that I unregistered it with regedit and it failed the first time and then was fine. Here is npvr.db3. It has been working for the last few shows since I unregistered. Let me know if you need me to run a few with it registered.

Just stop NPVR, and replace the existing file of the same name.

They are probably in "C:"Program Files (x86)"\NPVR". You may have to use regsvr32 "c:\program files (x86)\npvr\NPVRCCExtractor.ax" from the command line in administrator mode if you unregistered it before. I restarted my computer also. It has only had the crash once in several days since and closed captions seem to work as before, which is most of the time.
