Can't find server

When I start my client I get the "can't find server" message for a few seconds which then goes away. Everything then works as it should with the exception of recorded TV programs. The first time I select play for one of those there is a ten second or so delay before the programs actually play. Subsequent selections play just fine with no delay. NPVR is clearly finding the server and db3 file so I wouldn't think it was a sharing or network problem. I'm attaching my client logs from tonight in the hope someone can find the problem from them. It's so much nicer when NPVR loads promptly and plays the TV recordings as it should.

From the npvr.log ... NextPVR is quite busy when it starts including, for example, forecasting the weather.

What happens if you start the client ... leave it for a couple of minutes to completely finish initialising ... start to play a recording ... Does the recording start to play more promptly?

I'm getting similar behavior too, although I don't experience of the first recording not playing - it plays OK. What I do get is about an 8 second delay from clicking on NPVR from start then a further 3-4 seconds of the "unable to find server", then normal operation. It's not a biggie for me as this is currently a new build getting setup but thought as someone else had raised it I would chime in.

That doesn't seem to help. I've gotten this to connect properly in the past and NPVR comes up quickly on the client, without the connection to server warning and with recorded TV starting normally. What I also find odd is that only the Recording items seem to be affected. I csn play a movie or video normally, just not the Recorded TV. I can wait for several minutes after the client loads NPVR or even play a video first, but when I try to play a Recorded TV program, I get the first time delay. It's only that delay that bothers me, the warning when first starting NPVR is inconsequential.
