NPVR is dead - how to complete reinstall?

Hi,

after upgrade to the latest version I am not able to use npvr any longer. Normally I use npvr with Kodi as client and in 90% of the time Kodi freezes now when I start it.

I suppose that npvr is the problem. Could you please tell me how I could make a complete, fresh reinstall? I did a deinstall using the Windows 10 Software mechanisms but after the new install all my old channels, directories etc. where there...so this was not fresh in my eyes.

The NPVR database and config files are all located in c:\users\Public\NPVR so if you uninstall NPVR, rename this folder (better than deleting everything) and then re-install, this will remove all traces of the previous install.

The problem might be that NPVR didn't shutdown it's services correctly prior to upgrading and so some components didn't get updated. First off try running the 'Stop NPVR Server' shortcut and then running the install again (make sure you have the latest version). If the problem persists, reproduce the problem and zip and upload the contents of the log folder so someone can take a look at what the problem might be.

NextPVR stores variable information such as devices, channels and settings in two files ... config.xml and npvr.db3 ... These files are in the c:\Users\Public\NPVR folder ... Delete this folder and all previous settings will be deleted ... But ... it would be unusual for a reinstall to fix a problem that you might be having.

You can zip the NextPVR logs from Settings --> About and attach them to a post and we may be able to see what the problem is.

Thank you very much. This helped me to find my problem. All in all it was not nextpvr but my iptv server.

But one think concerning my setup is still left. I use nextpvr as a backend server and MrMc on AppleTV as front end. When I put the AppleTV to sleep, in most cases (not every time) nextpvr goes on with time shift recording. So it seems that nextpvr does not get no now that the client is not available (gone to sleep) anymore. I attached the status picture of nextpvr to show this situation.

Is this a thing that should be resolved within nextpvr or mrmc? Does anyone has an idea for this problem?

From NextPVR's viewpoint there is not much difference between a Pause and when you put your player to sleep since the http connection between the client and server is stateless. Either stop the player first or turn of timeshifting.
