It's supposed to remember it, and automatically reuse the last setting you used...so changing the bitrate should be an infrequent action.

Yeah, that'd probably simplify the logs. (restart the recording service first, to reset the logs)

Attached are the logs for the failed TV stream. My CPU was running at 7% while the TV stream was running (Intel i7 quad core).

This is the error output of the Chrome browser when the stream failed.

Its odd that the logs don't seem to show any sign of problems, like everything is going smoothly.

Are you viewing on the same machine as NextPVR, or another machine on the network?

It's another machine on my network. Lenovo laptop with i5 CPU and wireless AC connection. I have also seen the same issue when streaming on a PC outside my lan using a free dynamic DNS service.

If you try on the same machine as NextPVR, does it show the same problem? I'm curious if the wifi connection is dropping or something similar and it breaks the streaming.

It seems to be stable for now. Decided to try Edge for a while. I'll run it locally on the server too and see if it fails.

It seems that Edge is the only browser that works without stopping the TV stream on PCs on my LAN. Chrome does work fine on the NPVR server PC but nowhere else on the LAN. The Win 7 PC that is connected to the GBit LAN via ethernet also fails when streaming with Chrome or Firefox so it is not a WiFi issue.

My theory is that it is something to do with your network connection not being stable, since if you take the network out of the equation by testing on the same machine, then it works. Why does Edge work across the network - it's likely better at handling the error, by rerequesting the resource that failed. This also doesn't seem to be a problem others are reporting. If it wasn't working with Firefox and Chrome - we'd be hearing from just about everyone.

IMO streaming to a desktop browser over the LAN doesn't really make sense when direct play options like the NextPVR client, Kodi and NLite exist that are more feature rich and basically trouble-free.

This is looking network related, with it sounding like connection going away mid way through it downloading media segments, but I'm not really sure what to suggest.

If it's not the network itself, could you be running any firewall/antivirus/net-nanny type software that could be causing issues? These all manipulate network data sent to/from applications.
