Hi Sub
I have done some further testing.

Using 4.0.4.170820 with the following updated files:
NextPVR.exe 23/09/2017 05:23
NShared.dll 24/09/2017 11:02
NUtility.dll 22/08/2017 05:57
Unmanaged.dll 22/08/2017 17:05

Using NPVRTSReader4 20/08/2017 20:00 Resume always works although the logs still say the file is in use - tried disabling AV etc. with no change.

Using both the 26/08/2017 11:13 and the 09/09/2017 10:06 versions, trying to resume from the Recordings Menu causes NPVR to stop responding almost every time requiring the process to be killed from Task Manager.

The 20/08/2017 NPVRTSReader4 is the best option at the moment but obviously has the In Progress Recording Skip Problems.
Using the legacy reader gives very poor performance (very juddery picture and sound) compared to NPVR 3.9.2.

Logs attached using both 20/08/2017 and the 09/09/2017 versions. Both show attempts to open NPVR, go to the Recording Menu and resume Murdock Mysteries. (2 successful attempts on v 20/08/2017 and one fail on v 09/09/2017)

I have tried further tests

Using 4.0.4.170820 with the following updated files:
NextPVR.exe 23/09/2017 05:23
NShared.dll 29/09/2017 15:51
NUtility.dll 01/10/2017 11:00
Unmanaged.dll 22/08/2017 17:05

Using NPVRTSReader4 01/10/2017 11:00 Resume appears to work but the logs still say the file is in use.
Using NPVRTSReader4 29/09/2017 18:02, trying to resume from the Recordings Menu causes NPVR to stop responding.
Also both of these cause picture breakup, green lines etc. in the bottom quarter of the screen using both Cyberlink PDVD13 and the latest LAV nightly 0.70.2-79 on H264 HD channels (and Recordings) - I didn't notice it on MPEG 2 SD

Using both the 26/08/2017 11:13 and the 09/09/2017 10:06 versions, trying to resume from the Recordings Menu causes NPVR to stop responding but the picture appears to be OK.
The 20/08/2017 NPVRTSReader4 is still the best option at the moment but the In Progress Recording Skip Problem needs to be sorted. (Wife regularly starts recording a program then starts watching 20 mins later to skip the ads.)

I started to see oddities in the bottom of the screen after I updated a 2 year old version of LAV to the latest version ... including an install of the LAV splitter that I don't think that I had before. I uninstalled LAV and oddities in the bottom of the screen went away. I have re-installed LAV without the splitter and a very brief test shows no issue. This could be all bollox ... I don't know if NextPPVR uses the LAV splitter.

With NPVR v4.0.4.171121 and TSReader4.ax dated 24/11/2017 16:58

Trying to resume Railroad Australia caused NPVR to hang - have to click twice with mouse - no remote input - and cancel not responding dialog.
No crash dump produced.
The program was recorded 4 days ago so not in use.

In the attached NPVR log it is the attempt to play at the end of the log.

I have also included the contents of the ADS so you can check if required.

I've had to revert to NPVRTSReader4 20/08/2017 20:00 again.
Anything since this - resuming a recording causes NPVR to freeze - got home to a rather annoyed wife who had been sat watching the recordings menu for 4 hours.
On the latest reader H264 appears better but I was getting a lot of glitching on MPEG2 channels - but the weather has just started that co-channel interference type conditions so not sure.
Wife watches programs in blocks of about 15 minutes so not being able to resume is a deal breaker.

2 more sets of logs
1st try using TSReader4.ax dated 26/11/2017 07:33
Code:
2017-11-26 15:47:26.023    [DEBUG][1]    SetPosition(386.000000)
2017-11-26 15:47:26.023    [DEBUG][1]    SetPosition@skipmap
2017-11-26 15:47:26.025    [DEBUG][1]    Using timing.info, jumping to time 386.000000 (offset 237625232)
2017-11-26 15:47:26.226    [DEBUG][1]    SetPosition@exit
2017-11-26 15:47:26.261    [DEBUG][1]    SetPosition(386.000000)
2017-11-26 15:47:26.261    [DEBUG][1]    SetPosition@skipmap
2017-11-26 15:47:26.261    [DEBUG][1]    Using timing.info, jumping to time 386.000000 (offset 237625232)
Then NPVR just dies. requiring a forced close and restart of the program.

2nd try using TSReader4.ax dated 20/08/2017 20:00
Code:
2017-11-26 16:01:58.385    [DEBUG][1]    SetPosition(386.000000)

2017-11-26 16:01:58.974    [DEBUG][1]    Graph filter list:
2017-11-26 16:01:58.975    [DEBUG][1]     - NPVR PES Collector (DVBSubs)
2017-11-26 16:01:58.975    [DEBUG][1]     - HEAAC Audio Renderer
2017-11-26 16:01:58.975    [DEBUG][1]     - EVR Renderer
2017-11-26 16:01:58.975    [DEBUG][1]     - LAV Audio Decoder
2017-11-26 16:01:58.975    [DEBUG][1]     - CyberLink Video Decoder (PDVD13)
2017-11-26 16:01:58.976    [DEBUG][1]     - NPVR TS Reader 4

NPVR starts to play file no problem, but the latest reader plays better - from the start of the file.

Am I the only one who can't resume any recordings on all the TSReader4's since the 20th August?

Attached are the log files for both attempts and the timing.info file from the ADS

I also get my TV from the Mendip mast ... I have never had any problems with resume using the new tsreader. I have just tested resume in about a dozen shows, both HD and SD, with no problems. I am using the November update of NextPVR with the tsreader patch from yesterday. All tests with Microsoft DTV-DVD video and audio decoders

I've just spent some time on a couple of machines checking this, but I'm not seeing what you describe. Here is the most recent reader, from today, that I was using:
https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post519023

Probably worth checking that most recent version. If you're still seeing the problem, are you seeing it with both H.264 and MPEG?

Tried this latest patch - with PDVD13 Codec, after a reboot works for 1 or 2 attempts, then goes back to its old habits.

Then had a Brainwave and tried LAV Video Codec (latest Nightly 0.70.2.80 using DXVA2-copyback to get deinterlacing)

Several attempts at resuming recordings were successful - so it looks as though there is now a compatibility issue with the PDVD13 codec (this was the last one that works with 3rd party software and is getting quite old!)

So it looks as though I am going to have to get used to the picture from the LAV codec - slightly warmer / saturated, possibly slightly less crisp on interlaced content than PDVD13.

Hoping WAF is on the up Wink

Now I am getting used to the slight colour change, this appears to be the best combination - ever!
I would say that PDVD13 codec is no longer compatible with NPVR - well TSReader4 anyway. LAV video decoder is giving better less glitchy performance on both MPEG2 and H264 than I have ever seen before with PDVD - and has resumed on every occasion so far.
I think I will be removing the PDVD codec in the next couple of days.

Thanks Sub.
