Did you try Alex's suggestion? It worked for me.

Yes, I've tried reading to the end of threads and they disappear from the "whats new" display, but new ones appear next time I login. that's when the "mark all read" would be useful if it worked for me. I'll try to observe what is happening in more detail.

I'm still seeing the 'Mark Forums Read' issue...
Code:
Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error..

This is with IE 11 on W7 Pro.

Not a big issue for me since I normally read through all threads anyway (sad or what?)

I'm getting this error too. Forum does not get marked as read when I visit, and I can't mark it as read. Any way to resolve this?
What, me worry?

Are you talking about 'mark all read' like the other guys, or just viewing posts doesn't automatically mark a post as read? (I see the former too, but reading posts does correctly mark them as read)

Honestly, I'm not sure if there is anything I can do about the 'mark read', other than hoping it gets fixed in the 4.2.6 version of the forum software. I'll send the vbulletin guys a support ticket - but going by past experience, I'm guessing I'll never hear back from them.

If you double click on a the individual forum icons, on the left of forum list, does it mark all the posts it contains as read?

Yes, that seems to mark all read for a forum. In my usage I rarely arrive there, normally arriving via "whats new" I shall modify my habits Wink

I do notice that when I use whats new I get quite a long list below a line that says "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts. " I can;'t get my head around this list getting larger with each visit but "the threads have not been updated" This list getting reset with the marking of individual forums as you suggest.

Thanks for your assistance sub, hopefully a fix will arrive with a new version one of these days.

'mark all read' does not work, viewing posts does mark them as read. But it used to be that visiting then leaving the forum marked everything as read so that on the next visit only new posts were shown as unread. That no longer happens.

Double clicking the forum icons does mark them read. I never knew that. (never needed to)

Yeah, it's a bit weird, but I think it is the intended behaviour of the forum software (to remember the unread threads between sessions). Hopefully that icon double click trick will help for now.
