Thanks, no I don't use the analog side of the DVB devices.
Here is the new filtercheck log.

It's all very bizarre isn't it - everything was just fine until the HD PVR2 got installed...

Was that filtercheck.log from the new filtercheck.exe? It doesn't look like it.

Have you actually got the drivers for the HDPVR2 installed? I can't see them listed in your filtercheck output.

Sorry, not sure how I managed to balls that up. Hopefully the attached is better.
I haven't re-installed the PVR2 drivers since running hwclear as I just wanted to get the existing tuner working asap - should I re-install them now?
Cheers

Hmmm that all looks ok. It's not really clear why the device is refusing to hook up.

You might need to physically remove all the devices, run hcwclear, install one device, install the drivers, add the second device, install the drivers etc. ie, rather than letting it try to install all the drivers at the same time.
I think the issue stems from the Nova-S and Nova-T being almost the same device, and using the same drivers, and chipset, and somehow those drivers are getting confused.

I've not yet done the one-by-one driver install yet but I've just noticed something else strange. While the DVB-S tuner does 'work' it appears that it now only works on HD channels, SDs return no data and a re-scan shows no SD channels.
Not sure if that will help your analysis but thought I'd throw it out there just in case it makes any sense!

I hope to go for the physical device remove/re-install later today but I think I might just have to stop putting off starting a whole new system...

Cheers

Well, I went and did what we all new I should and rebuilt it all on W10. Pretty much got everything working again, including my PCHs, but one thing I haven't figured yet is my (custom) blaster exe. The blaster works fine from the command prompt, I've configured it for my PVR150, it shows that it's being called in the logs but it just doesn't fire - might this be some Windows 10 security thing preventing it? I set the service to run as my admin account but still no go.

Any ideas, I'm sure it's a simple thing!
Thanks for all you help.

I was being an pillock but have now got the blaster working so I am now back to the point I was four days ago functionality-wise but have upgraded from XP to W10 and installed latest NPVR v4, everything seems to be OK. Thanks again for your help.

As funds at this stage only allowed me to upgrade on my old P4 server (I did find an extra 2GB RAM!) I didn't expect it to be quicker but hoped it wouldn't be much slower. It is slower navigating menus but it's not too bad now I have tweaked some config options.

What is strange is that when viewing quality HD content on one particular PCH it's stuttering/unplayable when before HD worked flawlessly on all the clients. This client is the only one that has to go through an additional fast switch, the others are direct to my giga-switch. I moved this PCH to test it plugged direct and it then worked fine. Older recordings don't play any better then post upgrade ones.

So my question is what has changed to mean that the part of my lan running through an extra 100 switch is no longer up to the job? The server doesn't appear to be struggling at all, so why does it not play now when it did under XP and 3.9.2? I should be able bypass the extra switch but it's bugging what is causing it...

Cheers

On the PCH because I use s/w decoding the highest bandwidth mvpmcx2 can can play is about 20 Mbs, so 100 Mbs should be plenty for ts files. Consider searching out how to disable LSO.

I must admit I got excited when I Googled LSO because it made perfect sense but alas even with rebooting everything it has made no difference disabling it on the server.
I tried telnet to the PCH and copied a large file from the server to the PCH USB drive and resource monitor on the server showed the network average around 20-30MB/s. Then I tried to play an HD recording in NPVR (you get no audio and stuttering picture) and it bounced around 3-8MB/s. Obviously this is not just for NPVR but the server is doing little else. Is there something simple I can use on the PCH to monitor the actual speed?

I assume the ethernet on the PCH is 100 so why would the extra switch make any difference. The fact is, it was perfect before the W10 upgrade, so that must be where the issue lies.

Any other ideas out there?

Cheers
