immediate NRecord crash on 4.05 > 4.10 upgrade

Hi
I got an NRecord unable to start error when trying to update 4.05>4.10 (see attachment)
I had stopped the recording service prior to running the update.
I then tried to roll back but struck the same issue on installing 4.04 and even with 3.7.7

*insert mild panic attack*

I then deleted NRercord.exe and most of the C:\Program Files\NPVR folder contents.
Reinstalled 4.05 and got it back up.

Not sure where to go from here. Am on Win7 32 with .NET 4.6.1

PS also got an unhandled exception trying to start the TV guide after getting 4.05 back up. Blew away the skin folder and resinstalled 4.05 and that seems to fix it.

So should Visual C++ 2017 should be a listed as a pre-requisite along with dot net 4.6?

In theory the installer is supposed to take care of it, but I mustn't have things quite right yet for these new dependencies.

Might the problem be due to the fact that for the first time ever, Microsoft has replaced C++ 2015 with C++ 2017 and therefor you need to uninstall 2015 before installing 2017.

Recently I have started using this http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/...aller.html batch file installer to remove all old C++ runtimes and then install all the latest versions correctly from 2005 till 2017 x86 and x64.
Seems to be a good way to tidy up

Thanks for the info on the Majorgeeks installer. That works well.
It is much easier than removing and installing one at a time like before.

I still have other issue but that helps.
