Here's one I made earlier

West Mendip Main TX from 27th Feb only 2 frequency changes.

Looks as though the overnight changes didn't cause any further problems - so far.

Annoyingly it wasn't that long ago that a UK user kindly provided an entirely updated set of ini files.

If we think this years changes are a pain - wait till 2019 - 3 separate re-tunes in 3 months for Mendip TX

I thought I would give an update on this as there were some unexpected outcomes.

I changed the aerial to a log periodic 36 and for about 4 weeks had almost perfect reception

Then we had the retune event - and suddenly all the programs on COM6 (one of the changed frequencies) started to glitch and breakup every minute or so making them almost unwatchable :mad: was I p***** off.

I was almost on the point of complaining to OFCOM / Write to my Member of Parliament - when yesterday I found enough time to do the last part of the aerial upgrade, which was to replace the Aerial wall socket in the living room, that came with the house when it was built 25 years ago, with a fully internally shielded socket. (Had to move the Server, a cupboard and vipers nest of cables to get to it - that's why it wasn't done sooner)

On resuming operations, it would appear that all the interference has gone - possibly best picture ever. Which is a bonus I was not expecting.

My suspicion is that the Homeplug 1200 that is on the socket about a foot away is leaking lumps of interference out of the cable (they use between 30 & 86 MHz - COM6 is now on Channel 52 72.2 MHz) which was being picked up by the crappy old socket.

I think you have decimal point in the wrong place. Ch52 is around 720MHz although there is a huge amount of crud generated by homeplugs

My friend in Chester had re-tuned her TV and complained it was a shame some of the radio channels had been removed. I said no they haven't.....and when I visited her re-scanned her TV and they re-appeared.
The mystery of why they'd initially disappeared was soon solved as trying to play any channel from that mux continuously broke up and was unwatchable or playable.

She's on a communal aerial system in flats. My assumption is that although no new frequencies are in use, the frequency was previously occupied by channels no one really watches (Shopping/Adult channels etc.) but now is carrying mainstream stuff so crap reception is very obvious.
Time to call the aerial company out!

I think the next 18 months is going to be torturous for us especially if a re-tune is needed when one is on holiday and NPVR is supposed to be covering all the wife's favourite programmes :-(

Yes. It's a bit frustrating that a lot of what I provided will be changing. Maybe when all the changes have finished in 2020 I'll repeat the exercise and submit a new set of ini files. The map on page 2 of https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/p...update.pdf shows that the changes are being done one region at a time, so maybe I'll submit new files for each region as the work is finished.

To be on the safe side it might be best if users do a full UHF scan, rather than choosing a region (eg Tyne Tees) and a transmitter, since the list of UHF channels may not be correct as time passes.
