mpeg2 problems

I was having a problem getting the video and audio to sync properly. I switched the mpeg2 video decoder that I was using and it caused my gbpvr to crash. So I just reinstalled gbpvr. Now, when I try to watch LiveTV I only get audio and not video. So I went and dowloaded some codecs and decoders but after installing them they dont seem to be showing up in the config menu of gbpvr. Can anyone reccomend a good mpeg 2 video decoder? and where can I download it?

The main ones people use are the Intervideo one from either the Hauppauge osftware or WinDVD, or the Cyberlink one from PowerDVD. There are lots of others though.

I installed the hauppage software, but I am still getting the same problems

You've probably got some other codecs installed on your machine that are causing the problems.
