What tuner are you using? Are the drivers up to date? What happens if you move the tuner to another slot/port?

Thought for the day ... it may be that your tuner does not support the magic that NextPVR uses to record two shows simultaneously on a single tuner when both shows are on the same frequency (including shows on the same channel).

August T210 with up to date drivers. Same issue using any of the four USB ports.

I'll experiment with setting the timer to stop instead of overlapping to see if this resolves the issue when recording from the same multiplex.

There have been reports that some USB tuners use a lot of power and work best in a powered USB hub

There is nothing the drive has to do for this. It'll work with all devices, so not related to this.

We're going to need to try a different approach to try capturing a dump file. Try setting these registry settings, and hopefully Windows will create a dump file next time it happens.

I'm afraid I'd need step by step instructions for this.

Despite stopping the previous recording, the 1700 5 News at 5 recording still failed.

Download this file, extract the .reg file it contains, double click the .reg file, accept the popup that askes if you want to add these registry settings.

I just noticed the mention of the August T210. I have had one for a couple of years but although it worked in DVB-T mode it would not work in T2 mode. The problem is my HP Microserver only supplies around 250ma from the USB ports which is enough when tuned to DVB-T signals but in T2 mode it takes around 300ma so wont work on my server. The solution was a powered USB hub. However in this case I built my own using a USB socket, an old 5V phone PSU and USB lead!!
