Theatrix in GB-PVR

Hello. First of all, I hope I got this question in the right forum. I recently got the Sapphire Theatrix. It's working fine with Cyberlink PowerCinema. I want to use GB-PVR with this tv tuner. I can't get it to work. The steps I did was:

1. Under GB-PVR config:
a. Go to Capture sources tab--> ADD--> Recording Source-->Direct Recording Plugin --> Settings --> Capture card type --> ATI Theater 550 Pro --> Country (since Philippines isn't listed, I chose USA, I think it will be the same since US also uses NTSC) --> Board number --> Capture Device #1 --> Source --> Internal tuner --> Tuning --> Cable
b. Channels - Everything is blank

2. I go to Tuning assistant
a. Card Type --> ATI Theater 550 Pro
b. Country --> USA
c. Cable

3. It will just hang my whole PC. Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks

If you try to start live tv in GB-PVR what happens?

After you try, post your gbpvr.exe-native.log

It says no channels have been set up. It's asking me to run configuration utility and setup EPG.

The easy thing to check is to go to your capture source and add a channel manually.
But it is better to use some EPG source. If you don't have a XMLTV file with EPG data, then go to http://www.tvxb.com. It's a free piece of SW that grabs EPG data from the web, using a specialized INI file. They also have an INI file for the Phillipines:
Philippines - Destiny, Home and Skycable listings for Metro Manila, plus local
This is in http://www.tvxb.com/country/ph-ini.html.
Then in the capture sources you can go to the EPG source and tell it where the file is located and you'll have the channels.

I also have the Sapphire Theatrix.
Question - does it work properly with the PowerCinema software that is included with the card?
If not I suspect the video card. What happens if you select "overlay manager" in the Playback tab?
An what kind of video card do you have in yor PC?

I have 2 PCs an older 1.3 ghzs AMd with a SIS AGP card and powercinema and GBpvr work fine.
The newer 1.8ghzs AMD with a dual display Radeon 9000 and both Powercinema and gbpvr lock up just like that.

Also if it works wity Power C but not gbpvr maybe stopping the Powercinema service might help, and if you do get it working pressing the top remote buttons wont bring up PC on top of GBpvr that way

So, what kind of lock-up? The entire PC goes byebye? Or just GBPVR won't start?
If PowerCinema works for you well, and tevbill's other suggestions don't help, I would try removing PowerCinema.

tevbill- I'm using an Asus Barebone Pundit-R with Radeon chipset. It has Radeon 7000 video (onboard). PowerCinema works perfectly.

Goodguys, how do I convert the ini file to xml format? Any utility around?

I removed PowerCinema just now. In the first place, I initially installed gbpvr, and it won't work. That's the reason I installed PowerCinema. When doing the tuning assistant, the whole pc locks up, and nothing will work anymore.

GoodGuys- Sorry, I went directly to country.ini without reading more. If I'm correct, tvxb should convert this ini file right? trying it now.
