Hi there.
I am using Next PVR 4.0.5 (171208) running on windows XP, and I've noticed that ever since I've updated to this version, the NPVR service, unbeknown to me, has suddenly exited and I
haven't found out until I've checked my recordings folder and discovered there are no recordings available.
then I find that the recording service has caused an error and it asks me if I want to send a report to Microsoft.
Unfortunately, the next version after 4.0.5 (171208), no longer works on windows XP, so I have to put up with this problem.
Is there anything I can do to fix just this one bug without needing to upgrade windows versions?
Thanks.

I can't give you any updates on that old version.

If you post the logs though, I can check if there is any obvious error, that you might be able fix by changing a setting or similar.

OK, here you go, but I don't think the logs contain anything useful.

ah.
I believe this is the problem I'm having.
Your non-XP update says:
- fixed a bug that could cause NRecord.exe to crash if NDigitalHost.exe had crashed.

Unfortunately I can't see any sign of an error in those logs. Were they from immediately after the problem?

I believe I've fixed it.
I turned the option "Use legacy NPVR TS Reader and Microsoft Demultiplexer" on and the problem seems to have gone away.
