Hi
I currently have an installed TV card which is getting old and playing up. I use NextPVR with it for all my recording. I was thinking of purchasing a USB type capture device. However I don't know much about them and have a couple of questions.
Can I still use the NextPVR program as the front end capture program and not worry about using the program that comes with the new device?
I assume the USB device downloads the recordings to a designated folder on the PC just as NextPVR does?
Suppose the question really is, can the USB device be used exactly as my current NextPVR set up using the PCI card?
Many Thanks is advance

There is pretty much no difference between a USB device and PCI device from NextPVR's perspective.

I'm assuming you're going to be capturing DVB-T? Any device with working Windows drivers should be ok. A Hauppauge device is always a safe bet though.

I run four simultaneous tuners through a hub through a single USB 2.0 port. See sig for system specs.
WinXP SP3 A8V-X Athlon 64 FX-60 2.60GHz 2GB
NextPVR 3.4.8

Make sure you get a real USB TV tuner and not one of the cheap SDR USB devices.
